School Uniform Update – September 2023

We are pleased to share a change to our school uniform which will be introduced this September, at the start of the new academic year.

The change is being introduced to improve the current standard of uniform being worn by our students, and to ensure that we have a smart uniform which is representative of the high standards we uphold at Brannel School. We are aware of a number of issues with the purchasing of appropriate school skirts and that some of our students are still taking too wide an interpretation of what constitutes an acceptable school skirt.

It is our duty as a school to ensure that every student is always dressed appropriately and we have listened carefully to parents and carers who have highlighted concerns.

From September 2023, we are introducing a standardised school skirt. This will be a pleated grey and black check skirt which will only be available for purchase through an approved uniform supplier. Further communication about how to purchase the skirt will follow.

Please note that black skirts will no longer be part of our uniform and may no longer be worn by any student in any year group. If students wish to wear a skirt, they will need to purchase one of the new school skirts. Alternatively, they may choose to continue to wear an appropriate styled black school trouser which complies with our uniform guidance.

We hope you will appreciate the greater clarity over what constitutes a correct uniform skirt. Thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter and for your support for the standards we wish to uphold as a school. As always if there are any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch via [email protected]
