MERGING TRUSTS APPOINT NEW CEO
The Board of Directors and CEOs of Newquay Education Trust (NET) and Peninsula Learning Trust (PLT) are delighted to announce the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer for their new Trust, Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT).
From September 2019, Lisa Mannall who currently works for the Department of Education as the Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West, will take the helm of CELT, following the completion of the NET and PLT merger.
Lisa’s current role with the DfE has enabled her, at a very senior level, to shape the educational landscape at a local, regional and national level.
Lisa also brings a wealth of experience beyond that role, as prior to the DfE position she was Executive Headteacher of Newquay’s Trenance Learning Academy, and then Chief Executive Officer of The Learning Academy Trust.
Lisa states, ‘I am delighted to be appointed as CELT’s first CEO and look forward to working with the school communities within the new Trust to continue and further develop the excellent work already being undertaken’.
Sarah Karkeek, CEO of NET said, ‘CELT is proud to have recruited such an outstanding leader and I am sure she will continue to take our schools from strength to strength’.
Paul Towe, CEO of PLT said ‘It is a very exciting time for both substantive Trusts, whose teaching and back-office leads are already working closely together, bringing efficiencies and increased opportunities which will ultimately benefit the young people in our care across Mid-Cornwall’.
