Miss Matthews has just signed up to do something which is going to be a massive personal challenge!
Her uncle is currently in intensive care due to health problems connected to Type 1 Diabetes. In order to raise money for Diabetes UK, Miss Matthews has signed up to swim the equivalent of the English Channel!
She will swim 22 miles in 12 weeks in her local pool, between 22nd Feb and 22nd May. Miss Matthews has always enjoyed swimming but usually only a leisurely doggy paddle! This will be a huge personal challenge and she’s hoping that she will also be able to raise lots of money for the charity to make life better for those that live with Diabetes.
